Baby Botox is a technique of injecting microdoses of botulinum toxin for a soft, natural effect. Instead of fully blocking the muscles, they are only partially relaxed, which allows you to preserve living facial expression. It is ideal for young patients, those having botulinum therapy for the first time, or for maintenance procedures.

The first changes are noticeable within 2-3 days after the procedure. The maximum wrinkle-correction effect is achieved in 10-14 days. Results from Dysport may appear faster — as early as day 2. That is exactly why a follow-up check-up is scheduled in 2 weeks.

Some antibiotics (aminoglycosides) can enhance the effect of botulinum toxin, which is potentially dangerous. If you have been prescribed antibiotics, be sure to tell your doctor about the recent botulinum therapy procedure. In most cases, common antibiotics (penicillins, cephalosporins) are safe.

Resistance is a reduction in sensitivity to the product with regular use. It is rare (fewer than 1% of patients). The body can produce antibodies to the toxin. To avoid this: do not exceed the recommended doses, observe the intervals between procedures (at least 3 months), and consider products without stabilizing proteins (Xeomin).

The dosage is individual and depends on: facial anatomy, muscle strength, the desired effect, and gender (men need more units). Average doses: forehead 10-20 units, glabella 10-25 units, around the eyes 6-15 units per side. The doctor determines the exact dose at the consultation after assessing muscle activity.

Ptosis is a drooping of the upper eyelid, a rare complication (fewer than 2%). It occurs with improper injection technique or non-compliance with the recommendations. For prevention: choose an experienced doctor, do not touch the face for 4 hours after the procedure, and do not bend over or lie down. If ptosis occurs — it resolves on its own within 2-4 weeks.
