How to Prepare for Injectable Treatments
Everything you need to know before your Botulinum or filler appointment
1 Week Before
- Stop blood thinners (if approved by your doctor): aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E
- Avoid alcohol for at least 3 days before
- No dental work scheduled within 2 weeks
Day Before
- Get a good night's sleep
- Stay hydrated
- Don't schedule anything stressful
Day of Treatment
- Come with clean skin — no makeup
- Eat a light meal
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early
- Bring a list of questions
What to Avoid After Treatment
- First 4 hours: Don't lie down, don't touch the area
- First 24 hours: No exercise, sauna, hot baths
- First 48 hours: No alcohol
- First 2 weeks: No facial massages, dental work
Side Effects to Expect
Normal side effects include:
- Mild redness (goes away in hours)
- Small bumps at injection sites (resolve in 1-2 hours)
- Minor bruising (possible, fades in 5-7 days)
- Slight swelling (especially with fillers)

- Severe pain
- Unusual swelling or discoloration
