How to Prepare for Injectable Treatments

Everything you need to know before your Botulinum or filler appointment

1 Week Before

  • Stop blood thinners (if approved by your doctor): aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E
  • Avoid alcohol for at least 3 days before
  • No dental work scheduled within 2 weeks

Day Before

  • Get a good night's sleep
  • Stay hydrated
  • Don't schedule anything stressful

Day of Treatment

  • Come with clean skin — no makeup
  • Eat a light meal
  • Arrive 10-15 minutes early
  • Bring a list of questions

What to Avoid After Treatment

  • First 4 hours: Don't lie down, don't touch the area
  • First 24 hours: No exercise, sauna, hot baths
  • First 48 hours: No alcohol
  • First 2 weeks: No facial massages, dental work

Side Effects to Expect

Normal side effects include:

  • Mild redness (goes away in hours)
  • Small bumps at injection sites (resolve in 1-2 hours)
  • Minor bruising (possible, fades in 5-7 days)
  • Slight swelling (especially with fillers)
